Engaged Life

The Mailroom

Issue One · 17 to 30 August 2026

We ask vendors to share what they really charge, and we publish what weddings actually cost. So it only seemed right to be that honest about our own things too.

What we bought, what was sent to us, and what's on our wishlist. Every two weeks we'll share what we'd buy again, what we returned, and what we wouldn't buy again. Rather than tell you what we think is good, we want to show you everything and let you see what works for you.

What we bought

our own money

Nobody sent us these and nobody had any say in them. This is what we spent our own money on, and whether we'd do it again.

What we were sent

all of it, good and not

Everything brands sent us. We publish all of it, including the things that weren't for us, because a list where everything is wonderful isn't a list worth reading.

The wishlist

not ours yet

We don't own any of these. They're open in a tab and we're thinking about it, which felt more honest than showing you only the things we already have.

Shop the wedding

Bakersfield · $45,000

One real wedding, both halves of it. A western spring wedding at the Nirvana Estate in Bakersfield. 150 guests, $45,000 all in, every line published. Read the full breakdown.

The team who built it

We earn nothing from any of these. Every one of them is linked because they did the work, not because they paid for it.

Get close to the look

The pieces that get you near the parts you loved. These do earn us a commission, and they say so.

Coming in issue two.

The mood

The ranch wedding

One aesthetic, pulled together properly, with what every piece of it costs. Same idea as everything else here. Beautiful, and with the numbers attached.
