A rainy spring wedding for Alexandra and Nikolas at Hazelnut Farm
Alexandra and Nikolas did not let the rain put a damper on their wedding day. If anything, it gave them the dreamiest spring backdrop they could have asked for. They are a quiet, gentle couple, and they wanted their day at Hazelnut Farm to reflect that same softness. Every part of it felt calm, romantic, and true to who they are, with plenty of moments to celebrate with the people they love.
When the forecast says rain
The ceremony moved indoors, and it lost nothing in the translation. Under the chandeliers and arched windows it felt even more intimate, and the rain outside turned every window into a soft gray backdrop. Later, a clear umbrella and a quiet walk through the grounds gave Keely some of the most romantic frames of the day.
A venue that works from every angle
Hazelnut Farm earns its reputation. Gorgeous architecture, manicured grounds, a pond, a checkered floor made for a first look, and endless photo opportunities inside and out. When the weather forces a change of plans, a venue like this is the insurance policy.
Soft, calm, and true to them
Nothing about this day was performed. The first look was quiet, the portraits were unhurried, and the palette stayed gentle: tan suits, lace, and spring florals in shades that felt picked from the garden rather than a catalog.
The celebration
Bridesmaids in citrus and berry tones brought the color, Allie Baked brought a three tier cake trimmed like lace, and Bayou Bluegrass kept everyone fed. By the first dance, Alexandra and Nikolas had their names written in light on the wall and a room full of their favorite people around them.
Hazelnut Farm came to $12,000 and photography was $5,200. The remaining $12,800 covered planning by Courtney Samuel Events, the dress from Rebecca’s Wedding Boutique, suits from J. Alan Formalwear, catering by Bayou Bluegrass, and the cake and desserts from Allie Baked.
