A Historic Colorado Wedding Estate With Three Stunning Venues
Some wedding venues are just rooms with a view. And then there’s Lionsgate Event Center.
Nestled in Lafayette, Colorado — just 30 minutes from Denver and 20 minutes from Boulder — Lionsgate is a sprawling private estate that has been turning love stories into unforgettable celebrations since 1992. It’s one of Colorado’s most beloved wedding destinations, and once you see it, you’ll understand why.

A Family Legacy Built on Love
The story of Lionsgate begins the same way every great love story does: two people, one vision, and a whole lot of heart.
In 1990, newlyweds Tom and Marie discovered an abandoned 1927 property designed by architect William N. Bowman. Inspired by their own struggle to find the perfect wedding venue, they transformed it into The Dove House — and Lionsgate was born.
Over three decades, the estate grew. The Gatehouse was added in 1993. The Chandelier Barn followed in 2017, with each of its 32 chandeliers hand-crystalled by Marie herself. Today, Tom and Marie’s son Steve and his wife Alex carry the family legacy forward — bringing fresh energy while honoring every tradition that made Lionsgate extraordinary.
This isn’t a corporate event space. It’s a family home that happens to be one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Colorado.
Three Venues, One Breathtaking Estate
What makes Lionsgate truly unique is that it’s home to three completely distinct venues — each with its own personality, capacity, and magic. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering of 50 or a grand celebration of 350, there’s a Lionsgate venue built for you.

The Dove House
Historic charm. Lush gardens. Intimate elegance.
Built in 1927, The Dove House is a romantic brick mansion that feels like a page out of a storybook. Couples exchange vows in the manicured outdoor garden surrounded by mature trees, blooming flowers, and lush greenery that photographers dream about.
Inside, the mansion’s vintage interiors — antique furnishings, hardwood floors, cozy fireplaces — create a reception atmosphere that feels warm, personal, and completely timeless.
- Capacity: Up to 150 guests
- Best for: Intimate weddings, garden ceremonies, couples who love vintage and romantic aesthetics
- Photographer’s tip: The pink cherry blossoms on the north side bloom in late April — timing your wedding here is truly something special.

The Gatehouse
Grand. Elegant. Completely flexible.
The largest venue on the estate, The Gatehouse was built in 1910 and features stunning stained glass windows, an antique staircase, soaring ceilings, and a grand ballroom that has hosted some of Colorado’s most beautiful celebrations.
Ceremonies are typically held outdoors under the gazebo-style ceremony site, with the option to move indoors in front of the signature stained glass windows if weather calls for it. Receptions move inside to the spacious ballroom — warm, elegant, and full of century-old character.
- Capacity: Up to 350 guests
- Best for: Larger weddings, formal celebrations, couples who want grandeur with flexibility
- Photographer’s tip: In late September, the vine wall on the south side of the ceremony site turns a brilliant red — one of the most stunning natural backdrops in Colorado wedding photography.

The Chandelier Barn
Rustic beams. 32 glowing chandeliers. Pure magic.
There is simply nothing else like The Chandelier Barn. Transformed from a hay barn, this venue features 32 hand-crystalled chandeliers hanging from rustic wooden beams, hitting a rare sweet spot: warmth and grandeur, rusticity and elegance, intimacy and wow.
The Chandelier Barn is ideal for ceremonies and after-parties, and serves as a stunning all-weather backup option. Even in a Colorado snowstorm, it’s magical — maybe more so.
- Capacity: Up to 110 for ceremony
- Best for: Couples who want a uniquely visual, unforgettable venue with major wow factor

What’s Included With Every Package
One of the most valuable features of Lionsgate is what automatically comes with your booking:
- A dedicated wedding coordinator — assigned after booking and with you every step of the way through your wedding day
- Full exclusive use of the property — ceremony space, reception venue, getting-ready suites, and all outdoor grounds
- Chiavari chairs, linens, centerpieces, and tables
- All-inclusive package options with a curated preferred vendor network
- 30+ years of family expertise — the Lionsgate team has been doing this since 1992
Having a coordinator included in the venue package is rare — and genuinely meaningful. Couples who get married at Lionsgate consistently cite their coordinators as one of the highlights of the entire experience.

Why Colorado Couples Choose Lionsgate
Location that works for everyone. Just 30 minutes from Denver and 20 minutes from Boulder, Lionsgate is accessible without being downtown. There are ample lodging options nearby for out-of-town guests, and the venue is easy for vendors to reach from across the Front Range.
